Dear Campus Life
Friends –
Denise and I were talking with a
young lady a few weeks ago. She
was distraught over a number of
things and it was obvious that
there was some real deep-seated
hurt that needed to be dealt
with. We listened and shared
with her how much God loved
her. We listened some more and
told her about her loving father
in heaven that cared about her
hurt. She nodded her head
acknowledging that she
understood, but then in tears
she said, “I just wish that
my dad would tell me he loves
me. I wish he would tell me
that I’m pretty”.
That conversation has kind of
haunted me. Do we make it a
point to tell our children
that we love them? Do we
tell our daughters that
they’re pretty and tell our
sons that we’re proud of
them? So many of the hurts,
issues and problems students
bring to us at Campus Life
relate back to poor self-esteem
and feeling unloved. Even when
they make poor choices or do
dumb things – they need to know
that they have incredible value
and are very special in the eyes
of God. We need to remind them
of this often, and maybe remind
ourselves of it as well.
Summer time is approaching –
fast. Our busy summer
programming has some new events,
plus some old ones. We believe
that this summer will be a great
time of harvest as the Gospel is
interwoven throughout ALL of our
activities. The new Summer
Day-Camp program should be
awesome. Five full days in June
geared to middle school age
youth providing them with a
fantastic week of activates all
in a fun, safe and Christ
centered environment - all FREE
of charge. Weekly club
programs will continue
throughout the summer with
bonfire nights, game nights and
other special events. Summer
Charge 2009, our summer camp
near Crivitz, WI in August will
again be a great highlight. Plus
much more.
DON’T FORGET THE AUCTION!

Finances remain difficult, but
we continue to trust in God and
His people to meet the needs.
Your friendship, prayers and
support are all greatly
appreciated and we know that
investing in young lives pays
eternal dividends. We
couldn’t continue this without
you.

Blessings,
