Dear Campus Life Friends –
Over the years, Campus Life Family Ministries has had the opportunity to grow in some amazing ways, truly embracing the Family Ministries part of our name. Children’s ministry, adult ministry, senior adult ministry and much more. However, at the core of Campus Life has always been ministering to the needs of middle school and high school students. We’re not big and we’re definitely not flashy, but we do solid youth ministry and have done so for over 50 years.
I was reminded of this the other day when I came in from leading one of our Men’s Bible studies, and Denise’s door was closed. In with her was one of our young female students, probably 14 or 15 years old. Afterward I asked Denise about her meeting and she shared with me that this young lady wants to be part of our Student Leadership Development Program in the fall, but had a number of deep questions about what we teach and how we teach leadership. What is our
Statement of Faith? What does Campus Life teach about end times? Old earth vs young earth? Present-day miracles? Speaking in tongues? That’s just the short version. WOW!
We hardly ever get these questions from adults, let alone a middle schooler. Denise spent significant time going through her questions, and in the end this girl shared her excitement about becoming a part of this team. This whole experience reminded me just how important it is to not just do ministry, but do solid, Bible based and Biblically sound ministry, communicated in a way that students can understand. That hasn’t changed in over 50 years.
May was a crazy busy month with all of our studies, end of school year activities, senior adult ministries and, oh yes, the auction on top of it all. All we can say is that we are BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE! Thank you to everyone who helped make the auction an awesome success. Businesses and individuals who donated product/services, organizers, bidders, brat-fry friends and many supporters who came out and participated in this important annual fundraiser.
Thank you for being a part of this “continuing miracle”. I trust you will have a wonderful
summer as we continue to work together to make Christ known to the youth and families
of Sheboygan County. As always, your gifts are greatly appreciated and greatly needed. Thank you for your active support, prayers and encouragement.
